Easy Coffee Flan Recipe

INGREDIENTS:
  • 2 tablespoons instant coffee granules

  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk

  • 2 cups evaporated milk

  • 6 large eggs

  • 2 tbsp water

  • 1 tablespoon warm water

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1/2 cup sugar

  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

HOW TO COOK:
  1. Combine water and sugar in a bowl (microwave- safe).

  2. Stir well until sugar is completely dissolved.

  3. Microwave (high setting) for about 4 to 5 minutes or until color changes to honey gold.

  4. Quickly tranfer to ramekins or llaneras.

  5. Gently whisk the eggs (until there are no streaks of white) in a bowl.

  6. Add the condensed milk and stir until combined.

  7. Add evaporated milk and stir until well-combined.

  8. Using a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth, strain mixture. Set aside.

  9. In a small bowl, combine coffee granules and warm water then stir until coffee is completely dissolved.

  10. Add the dissolved coffee, vanilla extract, and salt to the strained egg & milk mixture and stir until blended.

  11. Pour into the prepared ramekins or llaneras.

  12. Cover ramekins or llaneras with foil and arrange in a wide, oven- safe dish with about 1-inch of water (water bath).

  13. Bake in a 375 F or 190 C oven for about 40 to 50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

  14. Remove from oven, allow to cool and refrigerate to set.

  15. To serve, turn flan over on a serving plate, ending with caramel on top. Enjoy!
